Who we are

We are a multi-generational, multi-cultural community.

Most of us live, work, study and play in East Van, Burnaby, or New West. We’re a community sent from St. John’s Vancouver Church to plant a new church family worshipping Jesus in the Anglican tradition, and serving our neighbours with warm hospitality and kindness. Our life together is just like any other family: messy, requiring grace and forgiveness, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying. But most of all, everything we do is only because of what Jesus Christ has done for us. We love because he first loved us.

Are we a church OR a train terminus?

in a way, we’re both – we’re at the start of a journey! And we’re named after the Creator God and King of everything (yes, everything).  We’re a community whose worship, life and mission together are centred on the one true King, Jesus Christ, whose beauty and majesty are revealed as the Servant who gave his life for us.

Meet Our Staff

Jeremy Graham
Lead pastor

Jeremy has called Vancouver home for more than 30 years. Married to Kim, with three teenage children, he was a pastor at St. John’s Vancouver for ten years before planting King’s Cross. Born into a missionary family, Jeremy loves cross-cultural experiences and the ethnic and cultural diversity of our city. He’s passionate about creating spaces where people of all ages can have fun together and sharing the good news of Jesus in a way that makes sense to those living in the real world. He loves hiking, movies, board games and asking “why” questions. He’d love to hear from you at:

Joel Strecker
Assistant pastor

Joel was born and raised in Calgary before moving to Vancouver for school. He met and married his wife Audrey there. They now have two young children. Previously, he was a priest-in-training at St. John’s Vancouver. Joel likes to eat, to learn, and to work with his hands. In his spare time he rides bicycles, and always enjoys being out in creation. Joel is grateful to be part of God’s plan to redeem and restore his people. He is excited to serve at King’s Cross, and looks forward to the ways in which this congregation will grow in Christ. Music & Worship Leader

King’s Cross is looking for a Music and Worship Leader who loves Jesus Christ and wants to help lead his people in sung worship. This role includes selecting and rehearsing music for worship services, leading and growing a team of volunteer instrumentalists and vocalists, and partnering in the creative planning and prayer for our weekly services. The compensation is $25/hr.

From our interim music and worship leader:

I have found working in a smaller church like King’s Cross to be very rewarding musically, with hidden side benefits like regular practice playing/singing in a leadership role, weekly opportunities to hone your arranging skills as you lead rehearsals, arranging for specific instruments and abilities, opportunities for composing, and the sharpening  of your ability to identify a good song.  If the number of hours per week is an issue for you (you already have a full time job?) but you’re interested, apply anyway.”

Ada Baylis
Children's Ministry Coordinator

Ada was born and raised in Vancouver (and finds it hard to imagine living anywhere else!). She and her husband Andrew met at St. John’s Vancouver, where they both attended the evening service for about 15 years prior to joining King’s Cross, and have put their roots down in East Vancouver. She worked full time in administration prior to having her two children and is delighted to be able to serve at King’s Cross coordinating the kids’ ministry program. One of her favourite parts of this job is thinking about how to use simple materials to enable kids to experience the wonder and joy of a relationship with Jesus. Her favourite pastimes include getting outside with her family, baking, and taking naps (when time allows). You can reach Ada at:

Our Beliefs

We believe that the church is a home for ordinary people seeking answers to big questions, not a religious club for those who already think they’re good enough.

  • We’re a family of Christians who confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and find rest, joy and purpose in his life, death, resurrection, and rule as King.
  • We believe that God is not far away from us but has come to be with us and remain with us in his Son, Jesus.
  • We’re people who are curious to learn more from Jesus and follow in his footsteps.
  • We’re a community for those who believe and for those who don’t yet know what to believe.

King’s Cross Church is a member of the vibrant worldwide Anglican Communion.

Anglicanism is the third largest association of Christian churches in the world and has its heritage in the Church of England. Features of this heritage include being:

  • Biblical—it holds to the unique authority of the Bible as “God’s Word written”
  • Liturgical—it uses forms of service consistent with the teaching & practice of the Book of Common Prayer
  • Evangelical—it is committed to communicating God’s good news to the world
We are connected to the wider Anglican Communion through oversight from bishops in the Anglican Network in Canada, a diocese of the Anglican Church in North America

2024 Church Council

The council supports the congregation and clergy by seeking to guide and guard the ministry of King’s Cross, keeping a clear focus on our mission: To joyfully love and serve Jesus Christ and share him with our neighbours.
